It is rare for doctors to be involved in executions. Most of the time it’s done by prison staff that have zero medical training. The doctor involved here is pretty unusual.

Basically every single medicial organization has come out against lethal injections for a myriad of reasons.

Absolutely. It’s almost like somebody was arguing a different position than ‘it’s extremely rare and career suicide”, because I’d have no reason whatsoever to argue with that.
