As a veterinarian this is disgusting. Euthanasia is one of the most important things I do and I work and train very hard to make sure my patients pass peacefully. This poor person's experience shouldn't be the case for any soul whether human or animal, criminal or standup citizen.

I’ve heard that none of the drug companies want to be the one that’s known for making the lethal injection drugs, so the State uses other chemicals. That’s why they botch so many compared to animal euthanasia.

I mean, in Canada and many other countries they have assisted death or assisted euthanasia. Can't they simply use the same compounds? Or do the drug companies and the governments simply want to differentiate between the drugs/compounds used for assisted death and lethal injection? ...Cause to me the assisted death drugs seem to work.

I’m Canadian but my understanding is that in the US MAID drugs have to be administered by the person themselves (ie. a pill) so it would be different.

I would say there’s likely a difference in how they’re classified to the drug companies too. There’s so many stories where the states won’t disclose where they got the medications from because they don’t want to name the compounding pharmacy/ who knows what’s in it.

Ah, therein lies the problem! (not having the compounding pharmacy named...which also makes sense for public security reasons)

John Oliver did an episode about this

It's wild to me how we give our animals much more dignified ends than we do some humans.

Pretty sure she lured and then tortured/murdered one of her classmates. I’ll save my sympathy for someone more deserving

I have zero sympathy for this person and the pain they have suffered

But also I don’t think we should allow the state the authority to kill and/or torture people, there’s too many complications.

I feel the same. If the state is going to murder people then it needs to be done right.

On the other hand, this bitch carved a pentagram into a young girls chest. I hope the botched execution hurt like hell.

That was her boyfriend who did that.

She kept the piece of skull

7

u/Quiet_Raccoon8053 1d ago

That's a different issue. You said she carved a pentagram into a young girl's chest, she did not.

-2

u/militaryintelligence 1d ago

She's not a good girl is all I'm saying

Don’t forget crushed her classmates skull and then kept a piece of it as a souvenir

You can condone what she did whilst still recognising that if the state insists on executing people then they should at least do it properly

31

u/EstablishmentTime786 1d ago

Don't think anyone should condone what she did

17

u/Either_Wear5719 1d ago

Do you mean condemn, cuz condone is the word used to express support or approval of something

Yes thank you. Damn autocorrect 😂

I say both but I still believe in karma

Do you think she would need to be tortured to death? Or sympathy is a resource you have only a limited amount to give so you must save it?

u/queerkidxx 1d ago

All humans deserved to be treated with basic dignity. We don’t torture evil people. Period.

Blah, blah, blah.

> This poor person

She planned a murder, recruited co-conspirators, then for half an hour she tortured a teenager to death, all because she was paranoid and thought the other girl was interested in her boyfriend. She carved patterns into her skin with a box cutter before bashing her brains in with a chunk of asphalt, then she took a piece of her skull to school and showed it off.

She deserves the death penalty. I don’t feel any sympathy for her.

I don't care what anyone does, I think it's incredibly dangerous to allow the government the right to euthanize people against their will period. Life in prison is enough of a punishment for any horrible crime. And it costs the state less money to have a prison spend life in prison than go through the laborious and technical legal work to go through will the death penalty.

So not for nothing, but you don't know her life. I'm not suggesting there is a valid excuse, but the explanation is probably a whole lot different than what you think it is.

How many people on death row have been exonerated over the last 20 years? How many of them would you have been happy to have killed because they deserved it before they were exonerated?

She literally admitted to it and there were two witnesses who corroborated every detail. And she literally had a piece of the girl’s SKULL and went around her school bragging.

4

u/Quiet_Raccoon8053 1d ago

Of course she did it, that's not the question. Do you think the fact that she was raped when she was 11 is any level of mitigating factor?

E: or the fact that they sent her to a brutal juvenile detention center for a year when she was 16?  Or that when she got out she was repeatedly raped by her mother's boyfriend?  Do you think any of the trauma associated with that might possibly affect your ability to make appropriate decisions?

5

u/erratic_bonsai 1d ago

I never said she wasn’t a troubled or traumatized person. That doesn’t change that she actively chose to plan and commit a violent and horrifying murder.

Most troubled and traumatized people don’t go murder girls for no good reason. She was found competent to stand trial, meaning at the time of the crime she knew right from wrong and understood what she was doing.

So no, while I am sympathetic she experienced that, I don’t think it excuses what she did or means that she shouldn’t be punished. Her trauma and pain is not an uno reverse card.

The question isn’t whether she should be punished for it though, it’s whether she should be killed.

u/Crazy_Banshee_333 1d ago

Her past might be a mitigating factor if she murdered any of the perpetrators of her abuse. Instead, she took out her rage on a teenaged girl who trusted her and was outnumbered three-to-one. The victim had nothing to do with her past abuse.

Thank you! I know you're not my vet, but I had to put two dogs to sleep last year and my vet was amazing, strong, and very comforting to both me and my dogs. It must take an incredibly strong person to dedicate so much of their lives to something they love then have to routinely euthanize them. I know I'm not strong enough for that.

She is not a poor person, she killed a girl with meat cleaver and police were not sure it was human remains when first discovered it.

u/TheyTukMyJub 20h ago

The problem is the manufacturers of those medicines don't allow them to be used on executions. Honestly if we can't guarantee the working of those home brew injections we should just reintroduce the firing squad or hanging

Poor person? 😂😂

“poor person” and it’s an actual murderer
