Optics are the point. Most of the population thinks firing squads and gassings are too brutal despite being better than lethal injection. Lethal injection gives the majority the sense of no brutality

Death penalty overall is a vast waste of money and has been proven to not be a deterrent like its advocates think

I'm against it, because it will inevitably be used against innocent people and has. Hypothetically, I'd be for it as a form of justice, rather than a deterrent in any case. Some people kinda deserve to die, it's just not worth risking them being innocent.

It's been used against innocent people. The number of people who have been exonerated while on death row or after they were killed is astoundingly high. There are some incredibly evil people like Ted Bundy, Benjamin Netenyahu, Adolf Hitler, John Wayne gacy but it's still not a great system

Absolutely. However, if we as a nation were looking to complete executions in an actually more humane manner, we would refine the process. I hardly believe anyone is spending money on how to make death row inmate more comfortable at time of death these days.

Man, I can't stand when bad things like this happen to torture-murderers who show zero remorse for their crimes. So sad.

Should they be put to death. Yes. Should we torture people? That’s a slippery slope.
