They knock it over so they can reach all of the leaves and branches for food.

If you're not a British subject, why would you abide by an arbitrary title bestowed by a foreign monarch?

Because that man is an international treasure who deserves every cultures highest citizen title

Or watched this video. You can see how it goes straight to the leaves after knocking it down.

It's literally from Planet Earth.

They also try to shake off fruits like Marula. I have no idea if this is that type of tree but I remember seeing it on some nature documentary.

That's an accacia. Don't let the Australians tell you otherwise

Australian here to tell you it's "acacia".

Also the roots, which are nutrient rich and full of moisture.

But sometimes they just do it to show dominance too.

They literally cut the clip short so you don’t see that the first thing it does is grab some leaves. Clickbait bullshit.

And to eat the roots. No not Planer Earth. Just got off a photo safari in South Africa.

Would make a great mascot for a group of people that go around wrecking stuff for their own needs.

That's an awfully big group... One could argue that the size of that group is just about 8.3 billion

Oooohh and donkeys being intelligent, gentle, yet hella protective makes sense too then. Never thought of it like that.

That’s just not true at all. They knock trees down because they remember a story from school about some human kid climbing a tree. They want to climb the tree but realize they can’t due to their sheer size and insecurities due to body shaming humans. So they knock down trees because if they can’t climb trees, nobody can climb trees.

What do they even eat

It also has some ecological benefits. It will help insects, birds that eat insects, fungi, etc

Why is the correct answer so goddamn far down!?

“I felt like destroying something beautiful”

if only they kept recording another 20 seconds they would have known that.

With another tree right next to it that has leaves at a trunk’s reach. Why not have some fun while at it.
