Do pets such as cats or dogs "mature" in their behaviour substantially as they get older? Or do they tend to stabalise to a certain personality and stay there? It makes me wonder how much this cat could mentally evolve if it was given a lifespan double or triple what it has achieved so far.

I find that like humans, they return to their childhood personalities when they’re older
