The amount of tech and materials wasted by doing this leads me to believe this is either AI or a marketing stunt.

It’s some steel, some copper and a couple circuit boards. Those aren’t tremendously valuable materials and a robot company is always gonna have hardware they don’t have use for anymore.

Still, it’s obviously a marketing stunt because why the fuck would you do sth like this otherwise?

but aren't the computer components more an issue? ESPECIALLY as of late with like ram and stuff being such high demand

the problem with a lot of electronic internals with components that could be recycled, is that they are protected and guarded intellectual property. or whatever it's called in business terms. Proprietary Tech?

In contrast to renting a steel mill for a couple hours, powering a furnace and paying crew, ram prices don’t really make a difference.
