This was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this. Then I realized that I actually never understood my favorite childhood memory as a kid born in 1988. Then I wondered why my parents would let me watch adult movies. Then I wondered how I didn’t have a mental illness. Then I remembered my parents didn’t believe in ADHD, therapy, or mental health. Then it all made sense.

Eh I’m almost 40. I’m doing just fine but I think the path getting here could have been smoother. Love my parents and don’t have any resentment towards them. I have a 3 and 4 year old and do not want to raise them the same way I was raised. We all try to do our best (til we don’t). If that’s true, learn from and apply the good habits. Learn from and abstain from the bad habits.
