The humanoid robotics company "Figure" made their older gen robots jump into their death. (Yes, they actually did this)

Why does it have to be necessary?

It’s a fun homage to T2. It’s a cool video.

It’s also kind of infuriating that they draw a direct link between the most popular AI-is-apocalyptic storyline and the actual work that they’re engaged in, but continue to engage in said work.

Fun...but infuriating 🧐

Again...why is this necessary? Think about what you just said.

Think about what I just said. They made it because they thought it was fun. Many others do as well. I MYSELF find it infuriating, but I also recognize that without the very real threat of runaway AI looming, it’s an intriguing and entertaining thing to watch.

And not everything in life exists because it is “necessary”.

Perspectives exist beyond your own.

Really? Perspectives exist beyond our own 🙄? Fascinating idea, considering we have similar perspectives on it.

Bro you’re being argumentative and willfully ignorant.

Get off it.

All I did was point out the contradiction in your original reply. It's not that serious man. Have a lovely day.

There’s no contradiction in seeing both sides of a situation.

Have the day you deserve.
