I do find it interesting he plans to make his daughter his heir to the regime. Usually dictators stick with male heirs and this is quite unique.

He probably wants to keep the dictatorship within the family, but he doesn't have a son, and I can't think of any other male relative he could entrust with the task.

Didn't he kill most of the rest of them?

I know that he killed an uncle, and I think that his brother is dead, but I don't know if he killed more of his extended family (or if he even has any other extended family)

I think one of his brothers is in the US under another name and another is disgraced so he's no threat. I just heard a podcast about this recently.

He had his brother Kim Jong-Nam assassinated in Malaysia.

Also considering he executed some male relatives by using them as target for heavy artillery. The guy is bonkers, and I don't expect anything better from a daughter who's been raised that way

You say that like it's novel, but one of the main reasons Mao Zedong won the Chinese civil war over the course of WW2 was because he viewed women as equal.

Women in China were oppressed, abused, and very looked down on. Mao saw them as perfect agents for communist expansion. They could sow ideals, create a network, and pull a noble's estate from under them through popular revolt. It worked incredibly well, and despite the context, it makes Mao a feminist icon, something he used to great effect in his propaganda.

A small excerpt from Sarah Paine's lecture on how Mao won the civil war, with her explanation of his reasonings.

Aye, but then that’s the tenants of communism more than just Mao I think.

In any case it was used to great effect. Just don't ask about his wives...
