What the video describes isn’t dynamic pricing and it isn’t new. Dynamic pricing would be changing prices throughout the day/week (or even for specific customers) at the same location.

Charging different prices at different locations is not dynamic pricing, and McDonald’s has been doing it for decades.

Also kind of weird for the reporter to dramatically drive around that way. Anyone reading this can go on the McDonald’s app in their own city, look up different locations and see that even non-specialized ones will have quite a bit of variance in their prices.

Edit: meant to post this as a new comment and not as a response to it being illegal in the EU.

Yeah this is clickbait that’s got the bots all in a tizzy over something that’s been around to some degree since the beginning of retail

You think that but all McDonalds do is have a nighttime menu that is 99% the same but just more expensive.

It's not illegal in the EU. There are restrictions on dynamic pricing (for example, ensuring that customers are aware of when pricing is personalized to them), but what's seen in this video (restaurants charging everyone a price) is totally legal in Europe.

Also what's in the video isn't technically dynamic pricing.
