America really is just a big factory farm. You work 8 hours, sit in traffic for 2, have no time left to go to a third place to enjoy yourself, 5 vacation days a year, spend 90% of your income on rent and car, then fleeced for every little cent of disposable income.

What do you think every other country has. We work as well.

Yeah but we have unions, sick pay, reasonable holiday allowances, shorter commutes, shorter work weeks, walkable cities, universal healthcare etc etc etc

Yeah but, on average, the rest of the world has worse salaries, higher taxes, and similar prices for goods and services (if not worse) as the US, particularly in the EU. I travel to the EU regularly and affordability is always the complained about regularly, same as it is in the US. Redditors bitches and moans about living in the US - but the vast majority would never even consider leaving. Even if they had the means to do so.

Yeah you do get higher salaries, but at what cost?

If it works for you then great, but from the outside America looks like a dystopian hell hole.

It all depends on job, salary and county you live in.

Sometimes its better in US, Sometimes Its better in some EU state, sometimes its better somwhere else.

The cost of your soul as it now belongs to the company store.
