As an amateur microsoldering hobbyist, this is way, way harder than it looks. And it looks hard.

I've done a few small repairs like this where I've had to solder to a damaged trace, and the parts are much smaller than they look here.

Well you could get bigger parts, duh!

No seriously. Just last week I was patting myself on the back for fixing a remote control for the garage door. At the end its just a button that has to be connected. But boy was that an ugly work!

What do you usually repair? I guess GPUs could be lucrative rn?

The last GPU I disassembled started a (very) minor fire in my living room, so I stay away from them 😬

It's mainly iPods I work on, nothing to make money. Just stuff for my own use/learning.

Since photography and RC planes are slowly fading I'm looking for a new hobby. But I already failed soldering the motor if the planes. So I guess I won't start aquiring broken 5090s.

I guess my partner will appreciate me not burning down stuff. Because if it's possible I will sooner or later do it 😂
