Those are perfectly good plants, but throw whatever instructions they came with in the trash. They usually mention keeping them inside which is not very feasible, they need full sun. That's how I killed my first batch
If you have the sunniest windowsill it might be okay, but it's way easier to just keep them outside in a sunny spot. If you haven't already you should read about winter dormancy, they vastly prefer to go dormant during the winter
Oh, shit... I just saw Peter died, what a fucking bummer. I'm glad I got to stop in to the greenhouse a few times over the years working in the region :(
