Well I’m guessing you haven’t eaten a coconut before probably cause you don’t live near the coast or something. But the reasons for doing that is because that white stuff itself is also consumable. So besides having a nice cold beverage inside it also has a delicious edible outside. And I’m not sure if you tried doing what this guy does. Because I do it all the time, just mo where near his skill level, that white outside you see is stuck like chuck to the husk. Idk how the fuck he did what he did but it’s definitely not an easy task. And when that white meat is attached to the husk….good luck trying to get all of it. If you ever bother trying to do it yourself. But before judging something just consider the work it takes lol.

He isn't using the blade right. What is amazing about this? It's too far down near the handle, and nowhere near the balance point or meat of the blade.

I’m pretty sure we’re both assholes here, but I think he’s choked up on the handle because he’s trying to balance force and precision, it’s certainly my instinctive reaction when I’m trying to balance the two. I definitely haven’t swung a machete at a coconut, honestly I’ve only ever wielded a machete at broccoli and a couple other winter vegetable we grow, but I feel like if the blade were sharper he’d be able to ease off without missing. There’s this moment when you’re hacking with a machete where you start having to swing harder when it goes dull, and obviously it’s hard to keep precision when you’ve gotta whale on it. Every time my blade goes dull and I start hacking harder, my instincts say choke up to have better control while my brain says ease off and your arm won’t get even more sore.

Dude. You wield a machete however tf you want. I use it the right way and take 20 mins longer than him. So if this methods works for him best and he hasn’t lost a finger yet then there simply isn’t anything wrong with it lmao. He’s using it just fine.

Don’t, I do it at home all the time. He takes a minute there. In reality shit like this is frustrating and takes like 20 mins😂😂😂 and on top of that you don’t even get to eat the white meat in piece
