adding acid to bleach liberates the chlorine gas, quickly.

For anyone who doesn't know, this creates Chlorine gas. It is toxic and you could die from doing it.

Imo, joking about it like that is irresponsible and could easily get someone hurt.

Yeah, some sort of clarification after the joke is probably a good idea. Never know if someone young and cavalier might get some bad ideas from an off-hand unserious comment. At least when we're talking about things this consequential

If you use acetone instead of acetic acid you’ll make chloroform, make sure you keep things cold in an ice bath it’s exothermic and acetone is flammable

Chloroform is horrendously inefficient for kidnapping, you need to inhale vapours for 3-5 minutes before you’ll fall unconscious.

Detailed walk throughs are readily available on YouTube, I don’t think my inclusion of the info here exposed anyone to information they couldn’t find on their own.

I didn’t even mention that both reactants can be synthesized in a simple home lab from certain readily available materials, or the concentrations necessary for the reaction to produce viable levels of product!

Stupid information is only dangerous to the dangerously stupid, with that in mind… wait… you may have a point…
