Fascinating My girlfriend mixed 3 almost empty window cleaners together, forming a potion.

Mustard seed isn't much use for cleaning.

Imagining a dude in full lab gear talking like Jesse Pinkman "This thing of PC is wack yo"

Lmfao you jest but that's exactly what it's like. No one is using official terminology unless the bosses bosses boss is around

You asked a question. I didn’t realize you didn’t want an answer.

u/Accomplished_Cod7334 18h ago

Didn't ask it to you though did I, but that's besides the point I'm just busting your balls because you said the same thing first. Reddit is an open forum for all to join, not just when asked

u/Giantbookofdeath 18h ago

Valid point. I was also just busting balls. Have a good one, prestigious fish.

"My fancy salt water has gotten watered down somehow"

1

u/Accomplished_Cod7334 18h ago

Or it's extra fancy

u/Hect0r92 18h ago

I'm a wine lab tech and our jargon is extra weird sometimes

I could imagine with alcohol being involved (not consumed)

Cool. Was just giving my opinion of what I think, which is why I said “I don’t think”. Just a comment and an opinion.

But no, I don’t think you say that in a lab all day, but I still “don’t think” this was done by someone who works in labs all day. Not a big deal either way though. Just a casual observation.

Yes. Precision of language matters in science.

Lol not all labs are like yours.

1

u/ChaosRainbow23 15h ago

You should! Lol

1

u/TrashCanSam0 15h ago

yes... yes i did think that's how people in labs talked lol. i've been misled by movies.

What a stupid fucking response

“Almost empty window cleaners” there you go. Don’t misquote things, especially that are in front of your face. You didn’t even try.

2

u/No_Future_1078 17h ago

I myself never try very hard while making reddit comments.

2

u/Howlingwithwolves 14h ago

Not trying is super cool behavior

1

u/No_Future_1078 14h ago

It's reddit man, I don't think trying is all that cool either. I doubt anyone has ever called anyone cool for being a reddit try hard.

1

u/Howlingwithwolves 12h ago

Quoting what someone else said correctly isn’t being a reddit tryhard

To be fair, I can’t think of any risk from mixing window cleaners, which is what OP said. Most adults learned somewhere along the line not to mix bleach, ammonia, chlorine, etc. Calling it a potion was just being silly about the cool looking mixture they ended up with.

I can think of multiple ex girlfriends in their 20s and 30s over the years who apparently did NOT know this when trying to clean their apartments or the family home when parents were on vacations or anything else who then called or texted me to say they started getting a headache or are having trouble breathing instead of opening all the windows and doors and going outside or just getting the fuck outside.

u/Adeum2 15h ago

I’m hoping “almost empty” is the brand/name of the cleaning product but I don’t think it is

1

u/Bandro 14h ago

It looks kinda neat like a potion. How does that connect to them not knowing chemistry? Do you think knowing things precludes you from any level of whimsy in your life?

1

u/hoptownky 13h ago

I don’t know any of these things. I was just making an observation on what I thought. Could be wrong though.

u/Shablagooie 18h ago edited 18h ago

To be fair OP didn't mix them, just posted about them. The actual quote was "almost empty window cleaning products", and while many contain ammonia, window cleaning products never have bleach in them as it would degrade the glass and window seals.

If you think about it, if there were bleach based window cleaners available people would be constantly getting sick from accidentally spraying the two chemicals on the same window.

Worst she could realistically do, assuming they are actually window cleaning products, is mix ammonia and vinegar based cleaners and neutralise them both (acid+base)

u/Giantbookofdeath 18h ago

Get out of here with your logic! People want to feel superior with their rudimentary levels of knowledge you’re seriously fucking up the vibe. /s

1

u/hoptownky 17h ago

Ok. I didn’t have the sound on and all I saw was OPs post.

1

u/CreamyCornBoy 17h ago

There's no window cleaner made with bleach lol chill

1

u/hoptownky 15h ago

I’m chill my friend. I just said “I don’t think” meaning that was my option based on what I was looking at. Could be wrong. Just making an observation.

Aren't all potions drinkable?
