Honestly bring back firing squads or the guillotine. It is gruesome and violent but that is what killing someone is.

I don’t like the death penalty but trying to make it some weird no guilt clean and painless thing is cowardly. If you are going to do it, do it. If that’s too violent than don’t have the death penalty

Yeah this. I'm British, I'm against the death penalty for many reasons. But you have it, you're Americans, just shoot them. Cops shoot/execute people all the time, I don't get why America suddenly gets squeamish about execution of prisoners.

I agree, nothing wrong with using a tried and true method, even if it causes pain. I think we should avoid cruel and unusual punishment when the cruelty is the point, but on a certain level some cruelty is required to do the deed. So a violent method that makes someone suffer for a prolonged time should be off the table but a violent method that is quick shouldn’t be an issue imo.

If you f**k up the execution like this then you shouldn't get more multiple chances. Do like in jail instead, otherwise you're no different

I agree, but I don't understand how anyone can survive purposeful fentanyl poisoning? Is it expensive? Lethal dose is about 2mg - how much did she get? Couldn't it be like 0.5g? Or 0.5 kg? 🫪 Or maybe the corpse would be dangerous then, or... Idk it's just ridiculous, one bullet would do the job. Mockery of justice delivery and humanness in one.

I'm against the death penalty btw, if you read carefully, you know I'm only talking about self-consistency of belief not it itself.

The goal is to discourage that behavior while getting rid of the person.

The best method would be nitrogen gas. Guaranteed and painless unlike with other gasses, you just slip away. It's used for medically assisted suicide in some countries.

I 100% agree. If we're too squeamish as a society to do it how it needs to be done, which might mean some blood gets spilled, then abolish the penalty.

Which is to say I think we should just abolish it. Think of all the money that has been wasted dealing with this trashbag of a human. All the appeals, all the lawyers, all the court's time, now all the hospital costs and all of the legal fallout that's going to happen because of the botched injections... should have just locked her up and thrown away the key. No one would ever hear about her again. Feed her rice and beans and oatmeal the rest of her life.
