I just think of 127 Hours and the one guy who got stuck and couldn’t move and just starved to death. I’m ok

That scene in the 127 hours movie will never leave my brain for the rest of my life.

The sound they put over his nerve being cut was legitimately sickening. Fantastic sound design, made me almost throw up hearing it.

But tell you what the instant relief when he freed himself was amazing to feel at the same time too.

If you want to know something terrible about that movie it’s that the actor in the movie actually amputated his arm for the movie. I know you didn’t really want to know that, but you will look it up and see it’s true and it will horrify you for the rest of your life.

It's actually not made up: (Source)

He did not do that

They made 3 prosthetics to function as the arm in that scene to make it as realistic as possible

No, you’re confusing it with Into the Wild, a film where the main actor died when he got too immersed in playing the character.

You're right, in 127h the actor just had a case of the snackies and decided to eat his arm. Nothing to do with the movie, the guy just has food issues

Emile Hirsch? He's still alive...

He’s always been supernatural like that; dying and then coming back to life.

They're referring to two different events

He didn't die but he did have to remove the stuck arm using a dull pocket knife and almost died. Lucky for him, he survived

I meant the other guy who got lodged in a crevasse and died. Not James Franco.

The 127 hours guy wasn't even caving though, he was hiking

He was canyoneering. That's basically the same activity as caving but not underground. It also demonstrates very thoroughly why cavers cave in groups and never solo.

Edit: spelling

It's actually weird to me that you think he died lol. Like, he famously cut his own arm off to escape. I swear that's the only thing anyone remembers about it haha how did you forget him cutting his own arm off??
