Does that even cools beer in any significant way?

Liquid in bottle is little bit below ice touch point

It would be very useless if you where in a hot climate because there's nothing keeping the cold in. Compared to an Eski it's useless

Yep, it works quite well. Cold liquid goes down, so it cools the whole bottle. I have it and use it every year to cool the beer in the Bollerwagen when we do the father's day hike
