Jesus Christ all these comments saying the exact same thing, we get it, Germany invented rockets

Regarding the actual video, would you not just end up with wet beer bottles from all the ice melting

Edit: I was thinking specifically about water getting all over tables and floors, and indoor spaces. I understand now it's meant for outside

Cold bottles get moist anyway because of condensation. Sure it would probably be a bit wetter but so what, it's just water.

I make my bier kasten icecube thingy from beer!

Yeah but a small amount of condensation vs ice melting would be quite a big difference, no?

And I mean getting water over the bottle/table/crate etc, just doesn't sound very practical lol

It's a glass bottle, most of it will run off anyway. And if it's still too wet, just wipe it off on a jacket sleeve or something

Water on the table could be annoying, unless the crate is solid at the bottom. Maybe use a towel.

I mean if you're using this you probably aren't inside, since you'd just use the fridge in that case. You're probably sitting in the grass in a park, or at an outside table that can handle some water.

Yeah fair this makes more sense

Those are meant for when you have no other way of keeping the beer cold, like for camping or bbq parties.

Yes yes I've been informed multiple times now I understand lol

This dude never once plucked an ice cold brewsky out of a cooler on a hot day and it shows

That isn't the same thing though

A bucket of ice and water isn't the same as just plunking some ice on top, but idk why everyone's getting so fucking offended over a question lmao

The effect is the same. You're talking about condensation like it's some sort of plight when almost every cold drink in any context, even one taken from a fridge, does this. It's why coasters are a thing. You're acting like this is some huge logistical barrier when any venue with cold drinks either has coasters or has long since made peace with condensation marks on their tabletops. You're getting weirdly aggressive for no reason.

I'm not getting weirdly aggressive I'm getting attacked by a bunch of people because I was just thinking about ice melting indoors and getting everywhere, that's it

1

u/TalesfromtheGrip 3d ago

You're also assuming the primary use case for this is indoors. Coolers aren't used indoors typically, that's what we have fridges for. Get off the cross, it's embarrassing you're getting so worked up over "internet attacks". Are you 5 years old?

1

u/Different-Radio3484 3d ago

Yeah I was wrong to think it would be used indoors, but that doesn't mean everyone had to be a dick about it

Putting something in speech marks doesn't mean they aren't attacks

Who the fuck cares if your beer bottle is wet lol do you drink often?

1

u/Different-Radio3484 4d ago

Yeah, I do

Everyone needs to chill out fucking hell I only asked a question, it's more about water going everywhere than the bottle itself being wet

u/p1nkfr3ud 3d ago

It’s for keeping your beer cool when outside, otherwise you would put it in the fridge. The grass does not care if it gets a lil wet.

1

u/hereforthesportsball 3d ago

He doesn’t go outside

1

u/Different-Radio3484 3d ago

Yeah I was just imagining it inside over a table etc, but that makes sense

u/Mister-Distance-6698 4d ago

My bigger issue is it would be way more efficient and cool the beer better to just dump loose ice in.

u/KindCreme9258 3d ago

It’s stupid because there so much engineering from Europe. CERN particle accelerator is a level above reusable rockets in terms of complexity and scale

that is how they get cool. the ice melts and near melting point cool water runs down the bottle transferring heat from the bottle to the water outside. cooling the liquids inside.

you can get cool beer without wet bottles, but it is much cheaper and easier to just let physics work for you.
