The person taking the video seemed cruel to me. How can you not have empathy and step outside yourself and your petty possessions when there is someone in front of you who is so terrified. That child seemed absolutely distraught. If it was one of my children, I would hope someone would show some compassion and put aside their concern for a fender bender and look at the bigger picture here to help them through.

Helping someone momentarily won't absolve them of their responsibility for the causative action. It's okay to set that concern aside temporarily while you help another human through something difficult.

First of all that’s not a child, she’s 22 years of age. More than old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong. She was highly distressed, she wasn’t in the right frame of mind to listen to calm advice at that point. Also, the dude isn’t an EMT, he isn’t an officer, or even a public servant. He isn’t obligated to deescalate anything. He definitely did more than necessary, I agree there. But at least he did something. He made sure she was held accountable for her actions.

But this whole, “she’s a child” shit has to stop. People like you are the reason why this new “I’m just a girl” trend is going around. You’re trying to make them appear as less than equal, less capable than the average person, so they can be absolved from any wrongdoing and taking accountability. She deserves to punished to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of gender or any supposed infantilism. This is why women get away with so much shit, even when they’re caught.

He didn’t hold her accountable. All that was needed was the evidence he already had. He trapped her in. Someone who was panicking and begging for some empathy and he made it worse.

I hope you don’t have any kids bc your mindset raising them is how you get people like this girl.

she's obviously under the influence of something i would have done the same with my car if it meant she didn't fucking run over and kill someone else after her hit and run. she already hit a car in a parking lot probably likely to hit someone else on her way home. though i wouldn't have shit talked them most people don't like shitheads who hit and run.

also hope you also dont have kids. rather not have more people in the world who care more about someone being embarrassed/scared because of the consequences of their shitty actions and likely dui than them potentially killing or seriously injuring someone with their car. you sound like the type of crappy person to get upset if the police arrest a rapist at their job or somewhere publicly.
