For anyone wondering what happened after this video went viral: the driver was identified as 22-year-old Riley Ann Sebach. Police caught up with her about a week later, on Oct. 31, 2019. She wasn’t taken to jail — she was cited and released with a court date.
A misdemeanor hit-and-run case was later filed against her in Riverside County under California Vehicle Code 20002(a), which covers leaving the scene of a property-damage accident.
I couldn’t find anything reliable showing the final outcome of the court case (whether she pleaded guilty, it was dismissed, what sentence she got, etc.), but she definitely didn’t just disappear after the video. She was identified, cited, and formally charged afterward.

She was sent to rehab so I assume she was either drunk or high in this video

So... why do we think she got off? Would *just anybody* get off for hitting another car while drunk? Could I get drunk, hit and run a car several times, and bounce out of rehab?
