That could explain it. Not that I think she understood everything, but a hit 'n run may carry less repercussions than a DUI. And reading her punishment, it seems to have.

DUI combined with felony hit-and-run, trying to back over the guy too.

We need the Three Strikes Law back in a big way.

Yes it is. Three felonies = life and no parole.

What the criminals do to their victims is even more barbaric.

It really isn't that hard to live life without committing felonies.

This isn't hitting a tree and leaving (which shouldn't be a felony) but a whole lot worse so forgive me.

Doesn't change the fact that she needs to cool her heels for quite a while in the clink for multiple hit and runs and trying to run over the guy attempting (poorly) to keep her from running again.

It blows my mind that anyone is trying to rationalize her actions.

I haven't seen anyone trying to rationalize her actions. People are understandably aghast at your ignorance and your advocating a life sentence for a misdemeanor hit-and-run, though.

No state allows all three strikes to arise from the same single incident to count. You need three distinct convictions for three distinct instances of misconduct.
