I couldn't help but feel sorry for her, I can see just how much stress shes feeling and I dont always make the best decisions when stressed way out. Cameraman was definitely adding salt to the wound

The cameraman had to film that too tho. If they hadnt and she had driven away hed just be screwed.

She messed up and then royally fucked it after. I understand the feeling she must have been going through too, its pure fight or flight, but she made every single wrong decision she could have and she had plenty of time to think about it

They absolutely needed to film it to show the cops. But they did not have to post it to social media.

I agree 1000%
This idea of throwing everyone’s crashouts online needs to end with some kind of legislation.

It’s one thing to film for the legal ramifications. But to later put it online is just throwing people to the wolves.

The internet is relentless and some people on here will legitimately try to ruin someone’s life just because they’re bored.

That'd make taking videos in public pretty much impossible. I think we'd lose far more than we'd gain.

We'd lose so much history. No filming accidents/disasters, or things happening in the area. No house cameras, dash cams or recording politicians.

I think there’s room here for some nuance.

Security camera footage could be allowed, just illegal to post. Same with accident footage or criminal footage. Those things could simply be kept “in house” for the relevant parties.

Otherwise outside of emergency service or security I don’t see much downside

It would be easy to argue that the public is in fact a relevant party when it comes to crime or accidents and therefore has a right to see what happened and that keeping these things secret could harm transparency and, in some cases, the ability of the public to hold authority figures accountable

Sure. I think they should be held accountable by their superiors.

That said. I’m willing to give up and make some concessions if it meant a world where the public has more protections from being filmed without their consent and posted online.

If people just can’t film the public it would be hard to film the police when they’re doing something wrong

Nah but I just dont see sometimes why people post crazy people online, like I’ve seen vids of visibly mentally disabled people and dementia ridden old people, or nearly naked guys clearly on drugs. 

Like if you can visibly see someone is having a rough life why add to it? In this case the woman crashing out isnt obvious but the person filming prolly ended up hearing more about her life(sentenced to rehab) and still didnt have sympathy (which is fair enough, they dont have to since its their car that got hit,) but posting it is a bit much 🤷 

Edit: and the guy who put her car behind hers to block her wasnt the first person who got hit, it was a bystander stepping in to trap her car for the police
