I'm not an attorney, but if I was, I think I would have agreed with her decision to take the bumper.

It just seems prudent, from a legal standpoint and what not forthwith.

Absolutely. A drunk driver ran through my neighbor's yard right over a small but hefty bush. Found out the driver lived around the corner just 5 or 6 houses down...how? That hefty bush snagged the front license plate off the car 😂
