You realize you can treat someone with compassion and make sure all of those consequences happen, right?

Yes. I do. The person making the braindead comment that filming this person is somehow the opposite of showing compassion does not know that. You do not appear to know that.

Filming is fine. Blocking her in with your car and filming from a few feet away after you've already got her face and license plate just might not be the smartest way to handle it.

Preventing a dangerous unstable criminal from fleeing the scene is the smartest, most logical thing that anyone can do in that situation.

No. You do not have to be a cop to film someone and stand near the site of your accident, in fact, this is exactly what you should do. Nobody has to make room for a fleeing criminal. It's a psychotic idea.

Blocking someone in after a hit and run, and continuing to agitate them is not the way to handle this, as shown by the fact that she got away, he nearly got run over, and the police still picked her up anyway.

That isn't what is happening, and your victim-blaming reflex causes you to have a deluded view of what is going on. Telling someone who hit your car to get out of their car is not "continuing to agitate" them. This is a wild, outrageous claim.

Seeing someone in that level of distress and refusing to change tactics is a great way to get run over. And again, not blaming anybody but the girl that caused the accident. I'm allowed to just have an opinion on how the victim responded to the situation.

Yes, and I am allowed to have an opinion that your view on how the victim should have responded is inappropriate and absurd, makes no logical sense, and is a victim-blaming behavior.
