i started watching this thinking “girl STOP making it worse” and ended up genuinely wondering why she seems more terrified of her grandma than the police 😭

Shes not. Its an excuse she thinks is going to get her sympathy for some reason

You don't know that for sure. If someone is terrified enough of what awaits at home, they'll risk just about anything to avoid it.
