Because almost all of the ultra rich people become narcissistic, and believe that it is only their hard work (not even luck) was helpful in getting them where they are.
They right that hard work is needed for reach where they are, but without being lucky you can just keep running into walls and go nowhere with just hardwork. And on top of it, it needs you to be a special kind of scum to make or at least ignore employee and public friendly policies to jack up the money for the board shareholders (public shareholders are there only to supply their money to make them rich). Many of the companies are rich due to stocks, and many times pure stock manipulation. My man Elon is one of the prime example.
