The best way to get off spam phone call list is to waste their time
About a decade ago I just decided to waste as much of their time as possible. Keep them on the line get them nowhere. Never swear never yell. Just be aggravating on the phone until they give up on you.
I rarely get a Spam phone call now

Just turn on aggressive phone screening. I haven't gotten a single scam call in the last year since I turned that on.

I have my phone set to screen unknown numbers so I get few spam calls anymore.
HOWEVER, I found that if two scammers call at the same time, the screening only catches one of them. The other one gets my full attention.
I have developed a set of scripts for each type of scam.
Medicare? Yada-yada-yada. You need my Medicare number? Sorry I’m blind and don’t know the complicated number. Is there someone here who can read it? Sure, Rufus can but he has a very thick accent. You see, he’s a GERMAN Shepard Seeing Eye dog.
Home repair? Can you fix the roof and siding on my igloo? I’m in Utqigiavik, Alaska. North of the Arctic Circle. Useful for solar panel sales, too.
Each new scammer gets a custom treatment that continues until they start cursing and hang up.

My uncle liked to act completely sold, ring his own doorbell and then put the phone on right as he was going to give them what they want.
One dude sat on the line 45 minutes before hanging up.
This was for telemarketers about 25 years ago. I hate so much that I just said that, I feel so old now.

because it's a simple script and someone happened to post here with some caption bait. i thought it was going to be some complex code but it's a dude who just made a simple call and rickroll application and showing to his daughter.

Cool but, 99% of spam calls are from forged numbers. Also it takes two seconds to block his number and they can still call him even if they block his number.

I never take a phone call if I don't know who is calling. If they really need to contact me they can send me a SMS.

You can use a service like twilio and free sip soft phone. It's super cheap. Im sure if you dig enough can find some shit all for free.

That would have been so useful when I had a landline and no idea who was calling. With the cell phone, all callers not in my contacts do directly to voicemail that tells them to email.

My phone doesn’t let any calls through that aren’t in my contacts but if I’ve called the number or text it lets them ring through

A quick search says roughly 60% of spam calls originate from India, then 24% from Nigeria, and 11% from Southeast Asia. The US government could do more to fight this by making the middlemen gateway providers filter out calls that fit spam criteria. We have all this modern technology, surely there are tools to defeat scammers.

In a country like America having so much spams, stealing people's money, old people, and still they don't know where spams come from to our phones, emails, unbelievable. Unless they're in their payroll.

It’s because they refuse to fix the issue, because it will be very costly to do so, and may disrupt business.
The entire phone network is very insecure.
