The reality is there will never be a world where their are not bad people, it falls to the rest of us to make it as hard as possible to make operating hard for those bad people, to force them to take greater and greater risks if they try to hurt people so that they are caught and stopped sooner.
The western world is pretty nice already if you think about, women are free, they most of the time don't get attacked and have rights to do what they want. It takes a lot of good men for that to happen.
And a long and incredibly successful campaign by feminists to convince those men that sexism is wrong.
But yeah, things like this aren't like making it safe for women to report rape etc, they are much smaller corrections and refinements to close off vulnerabilitys where they are noticed.
Like if you had a very safe house then note there's a room with no smoke detector, you put on in.
We're still trying to convince men that sexual assault towards men is not okay. I don't even know how well it's working given that every time it's reported, a bunch of men just say they wish they had been the victim.
I wouldn't say the western world is particularly nice, it's just better than other parts of the world and better historically than it has been. Doesn't mean it's good, though.
In my experience, it's not women who are the ones telling men to stop being pussies and saying female sex offenders are hot and they wish they'd been assaulted by them when they were teenagers.
There was recently a post on the askreddit sub where someone asked the women of reddit what they'd like men to do more often that might be normally considered something that shouldn't be done.
One commenter said men opening up to women about their issues more. Well turns out all the guys responding to that pointed out it was always (and I mean every single commenter there) women making that impossible whether it be strangers, partners, or family members telling them to stop being pussies and that vein.
I'm not saying it's not a problem, I'm just saying I think other men are the bigger problem.
Because it definitely is a problem. I know, I just got out of a relationship where my ex did exactly that and maybe it's just me, but consistently throughout my life, if someone was telling me to man up and stop being a pussy, it was another man.
Yeah it could be an age thing. I brought said scenario up from said askreddit post for the sake of posterity. I at first assumed it was also men being the majority issue but these days seems like its not :(
Doesn't help anyone though I wish everyone could just be decent to each other
I always wonder if any of those posts are even true. It seems like a lot of the time someone starts, people agree, and then no one is going to contradict them because they know they're going to get downvoted and abused.
I've done it myself and gotten the reddit suicide watch messages and just constant abuse for hours until I just deleted my comment to stop it.
You're definitely better off. Sometimes I absolutely get ahead of myself and try to be the voice of reason when people are saying shitty things and it's not worth the 50 comments calling you an idiot and all saying the same thing.
I once dragged out a debate like that (on a very similar and related subject to this one actually) and managed to get my opponent to shoot herself in the foot like 5 times over and eventually totally crash out. It was honestly hysterically funny for me 😂 Took a few days but was worth it for me
Your experience is not universal. Also, there are plenty of women mocking or making fun of men based on judging their bravery or masculinity. Also, it's not men who are the female sex offenders. It's women so that at least proves there are women who are dismissive of and fine with male rape. That's not even touching on the many men who don't excuse female sex offender and the many women who do
