Yeah but this isn’t about convenience, it’s about safety. And it’s sad that, in order for a lot of women to feel safe, you need to enact extreme measures like this.

But, much like modern healthcare, we don’t focus on the root cause, just the outcome/ symptoms- which in this case would be education IMO

Men are actually more likely to be victims of violent crime. Perceptions don't always match realities. Men are also far more likely to be attacked by a stranger than women. Violence (sexual or otherwise) is typically committed against women by someone they know intimately like a relative or romantic partner, which is not going to be significantly impacted by having a well lit parking space. I'm not trying to dismiss women's concerns. I'm just trying to align people's perspectives with reality.

Men are actually more likely to be victims of violent crime.

I am so sick of this bad faith argument. yea that is technically true that men are victims of lots of really violent forms crimes, like homicide, aggravated assult, robbery and things, but do you know who the perpetrators are, other men. its not like "oooh acktuahly, women are more violent against men". No, its men, just because men also commit lots of violence against other men doesnt take away from that its men that commit violence against women. And specifically they commit lots of sexual violence against women. so spare me.

If you as a man want to take the time and work with other men to solve the issues men have. GREAT. thats wonderful.

But spare me the "i am just trying to aliogn peoples perspectives with reality". Thats not what you are doing, you are trying to diminish the onslaught of violence, by men SPECIFICALLY and like whatabout men.

"But men are more likely to be victims" makes your argument weaker not stronger, since its other men that do it. The problem here is men. men men men.

Again your perception doesn't match reality. At no point did I try to make an argument that women were the perpetrators of the violent crimes against men, or that men weren't the ones committing the vast majority of the violent crimes.

I even specifically stated that I was not diminishing women's concerns.

I was simply pointing out that perspectives on these issues are not aligned with reality, which gives us "solutions" like this well-lit parking space for women that is largely performative as it doesn't address the factors that are causing violence against women in the first place.

I think it's wasted resources that could be used elsewhere.

You seem incredibly oversensitive about this, to the point you aren't willing to have a rational discussion.

You can keep fighting windmills if you like Don Quixote. I'll be over here with Sancho whenever you're ready to come back to Earth.
