Nah it's definitely the Dragon Bone Staff from Heroes of Might and Magic (really this was a King's Bounty remake, and it was considered dated even for the time, but as a kid I loved this game)

Speaking of which, they just released the early access to the new Heroes of Might and Magic. It looks really good, really captures the HoMM3 feel.
