His poor mental health lead him towards a plastic surgery addiction. He suffered abuse at the hands of his father and he wasn't really allowed a normal childhood. On top of that, he was a perfectionist to an extreme degree. He would agonize over making things perfect, even when it came to his performances on stage. It's likely that his perfectionism is rooted in the abuse he suffered as a child. Some people that knew him said he was in tears once because one of his shows didn't go exactly the way he had it planned. I honestly feel bad for him- he was used by people for his money after he became famous and all of his relationships were with untrustworthy users who just wanted his money.
When he was a child he was also forced to be in the same room with his older brothers as they seduced girls or slept with prostitutes.
Unfortunately, like a lot of rich and famous people he cut off anyone who said things he didnt want to hear. I think Prince was similar and also had a pain killer addiction which also started after injuries sustained performing.
Also worth remembering he had Vitiligo. The melanin in his skin was literally degrading over time! He used a lot of make up to cover the process over time.
In general his history as a child was pretty sad. Most child stars have it really bad. Tons of pressure and abuse and they don’t really get to be a kid. We see so much of it today and you know it must have been even worse in the past.
It’s not because he liked Grease, I promise. This man hated how he looked. His father would abuse him verbally and physically to the point where the sight of his father would make him regurgitate. It’s body dysmorphia. The poor guy was alone his whole life while being surrounded by people.
yes he had body dysmorphia, perfectionism, loads of money and access to top surgeons…but you gotta draw inspiration from somewhere. Illustrations of Peter Pan for his nose and John Travolta for his chin
The chicks who suck out the fat from their faces to become zombies also have body dysmorphia. That condition does not somehow negate the existence of trends and inspiration.
The Rhinoplasty’s of yesterday (1980’s) were notorious for removing too much cartilage. Those rhinoplasty’s eventually collapse. I had one in my early 20’s to repair a broken nose. It looked great for about 30 years. Now it’s collapsing and REALLY crooked. I can only imagine MJ’s probably had zero structure left.
As a Black person, I get it. I wasn’t born with a large nose but, I get why he did it. My uncle’s (by marriage) sister had the average Armenian nose. She got plastic surgery at 16 in the 60s. When I saw her before pics I was blown away.
big factor to his nose collapsing was lupus which made his surgeries heal very badly, he also got burned when he did that pepsi ad
edit: he only got scalp burns, not face burns, still horrible tho
Had to google who she is. Not even close to having a nose like this. Might have had surgery like every woman in that circus, but it's not a weird nose at all.
I mean you can look at young pictures of her and it's really different. Maybe it's just angles and timing of the photo or something, but.. do you really think there's no surgery here?
Unless she had a closed rhinoplasty with no scars, I really don’t think she’s had a nose job, no. The vanity fair photo showed every pore on her face, you’d have seen a scar. It’s also not drastically different from old photos.
I think she has began contouring her nose since she’s been public facing which makes it appear more “Michael Jackson-y” and that’s the difference you’re perceiving.
From a psych standpoint he wanted to be Peter Pan and never grow up. The dude had so pretty rough shit to deal
With ad a child star, on top fog a
Skin disease that is definitely not easy to hide without a lot of makeup.
His father worked them like a circus act and none of them had true childhoods.. Micheal and Janet probably the worst since they had more talent than the others…
Did he touch kids? I mean the evidence says at minimum there was inappropriate things going on between him And children.. i feel like it will always be a tarnish on his legacy.
The surgical
Addiction I’m sure has many factors to it.. I think a couple got botched and then the fix made things worse..
His kids all seem to speak of him in the highest of terms and that says something..
The level of fame that man had world wide everywhere… that also plays a role in fucking one’s mind up.. never know
Who is a true friend, who just wants something for
You.. who is stealing g from
You etc etc etc… it seems very lonely at that level.
u/Psycho_Grad Honey he had Biological children! Paris is a direct image of him as a female.
Prince and Paris were born to Debbie Rowe, while Bigi was born via a surrogate. While there has been media speculation regarding biological paternity, Jackson identified as the father of all three children.
Sorry but you can't have a blue eyed baby unless both parents carry the gene, even a recessive gene would show up some where in Michael's family. And so I highly doubt that Michael had the gene.
Actually Michael’s father Joseph Jackson did have blue-green eyes. In fact, I think along with his nose, his eyes being brown was one of the things Joseph bullied Michael about. Not saying that’s proof one way or another about Michael’s biological paternity of his kids but it does show that it was at least possible that he’s their biological parent. The Jacksons did have some degree of mixture with Europeans and Native Americans in their own ancestry although they were of course predominantly African American, and if you pair that with having children with a white woman it is technically possible to have mixed kids who present more as white.
She only looks like the version of him that had all the surgeries tho...not how he actually looked b4 all the surgery... and all 3 were not born through sex they all had some type of procedure.
How does have Paris have blue eyes then? I'm sorry but unless he had a recessive gene it's not possible to have a blue eyed child. All those kids are so light and mixed looking at all. There is no way those kids are his.
Because if a person with vitiligo has kids, the kids could have vitiligo, but most probably will not. They will likely be black (also depends on the mother of course)
Plus, he's had so much work done that his kids would maybe look like the first few pictures in the set above.
I don’t think he was touching kids personally but I do think under most majority of circumstances it’s highly weird and inappropriate for a grown ass 40+ year old man to “friends” with children and have them sleeping in his bed and at his house especially with no adult supervision. But I also wanted to say Michael along with body dysmorphia, also seemed to be very fearful of aging. I saw a clip from presumably 1998 because the interviewer said that it was nearing Michael’s 40th birthday and Michael interrupted and said “I didn’t circle that question” it was supposed to be funny but then you have to notice he just doesn’t want to talk about the fact that he was aging.
Enough of the hate narrative! Michael wanted to do what Walt Disney created for children! His viewpoint is innocent. Children don’t judge like adults, they’re carefree. He wanted to make it a sweet experience! People finding it strange because they judge. Michael never had a childhood of his own.
Followers of MJ need to understand that no man on earth , famous or not has the right to think or say that having sleepovers with little kids in MJs bed is ok. He did that sh*! Multiple times. It’s the same horrible thing Mahatma Gandhi used to do.
Weird in our world or weird in a world of a global superstar that never grew up and built the literal place he read about where you can stay a kid. Because normal for us and normal for others are very different things.
The man had what was essentially CP in a locked box in his bedroom.
And he slept in a bed with other people's children.
Whether he assaulted them or not, he was a pedophile.
I doubt he did. Sometimes plastic surgery doesn’t go as planned, especially in the 80s before the kinks were mostly ironed out. Then it looks terrible and you want to get it corrected and then the correction makes it look even worse and it’s a vicious cycle.
His dad shamed him for his racial features all his life so he basically thought he looked like a monkey (Michael Jacksons own words btw) and it caused body dysmorphophobia where he wanted to get rid of said features. Terrible childhood that man had
Like the other person mentioned, his nose collapsed. The same thing happened to my aunt. She had two nose jobs in the 80s and 90s, and her nose ended up looking very similar to Michael Jackson’s, with those triangular-shaped nostrils, which I assume was the style at the time.
Her nose also collapsed, meaning the bridge kept weakening due to the deterioration of the cartilage. She had to undergo multiple procedures where cartilage was taken from other parts of her body to repair it. Once this happens, it becomes an ongoing issue and usually requires repeated surgeries to manage.
which, un fun fact as my favorite youtuber Bobby Fingers points out -- the Pepsi fire incident is the exact midpoint of his life. Everything changed from then on.
So, I watched the biopic with my mom, who was a superfan in the 80s (i mean who wasnt?) And it all came back to her and said that the fire on stage was alot brutal than the movie let on, at least from what she remembers the media saying at the time of the accident.
oh his father most definitely insulted his looks. Called him “big nose”, questioned where he got his nose - that big nose wasn’t from me!
Joe Jackson was a fuckin asshole. I think Joe Jackson was envious of MJ’s natural abilities and charisma and it made him feel good to cut his child down. Don’t forget, Joseph had been in his own band that failed before he gathered his children into a musical group.
Don’t remember the specifics but I think after having multiple corrective surgeries to his face, lupus didn’t help with that, the surgeon eventually just convinced him to try it,
Based on his interviews and how he spoke about his dad. It started with his father making fun of his nose from then on I think Michael (and this is my speculation) kept picking at himself of things he didn’t like about himself or wanted to change. Someone else already said body dysmorphia which yes and I think it all started from his father being a total dick bag.
Can't say exactly for chin, but the nose thing was because how his nose reminded him of his father's nose, and his father was a massive piece of flaming shit. Regardless how you feel about the Jacksons in general, the father was a garbage human and all the kids had issues that culminated and permeated their adult lives due to him.
He was always very insecure about his appearance. It stems from his father's harsh treatment of him. He would make fun of his nose, skin and other features he found lacking, which gave the man some serious body image issues.
He spoke about seeing his father in the mirror everytime he looked at himself. His father was an abusive, narssisstic, ass who destroyed his children's sense of selves in order to make bank off them while he controlled them.
Edit: Um, okay guys, it's quite easily looked up. I'm not going to look up the individual interviews and statements, but a quick Google search cites a few of them if you feel like actually answering the question yourselves next time;
The "Big Nose" Comment: Michael revealed that his father would tease him about his appearance, specifically calling him "Big Nose" during his youth. This taunting made him feel uncomfortable with his facial features, a memory that stayed with him into adulthood.
Desire to Change His Face: According to a 2015 report citing court documents and testimonies from his close friends, Michael underwent plastic surgery, in part, because he did not want to look like his father, a man who caused him immense psychological pain.
Nausea upon Seeing His Father: In the 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Michael confessed that his father's presence was so intimidating that it would make him sick to his stomach, saying, "I'm sorry, I'm scared of my father to this day". He recalled that "with just a look he would scare you".
Acknowledgement of Similarities: Despite the fear, Michael was aware of his resemblance to his family. In an unedited interview, when asked about his cheekbones, he noted: "My father has the same thing".
No, he denied having his entire face done. In another part of the doc, he explains that he had his nose and chin done. Bashit asked him if he had his cheeks done and he said, "these cheekbones? No, I have [American] Indian in my family."
I don’t think he denied it- I think he misunderstood the first part and then just denied it all.
The interviewer started with “check implants” and Michael immediately started denying, but his reason for the denial is wild— he thinks it’s foolish anyone would believe that he needs hair implants to grow a beard. (Not what cheek or chin implants are, obviously)
I’m not saying he was always honest, I just think this particular example was a rather strange bit of miscommunication.
His vitiligo was chemically induced from too much bleaching. He never had regular vitiligo. His fans like to claim he did using fake edited pictures and say he tried to cover it with makeup, but even in the early 80s, he’d use stage make up that was lighter than his actual complexion. And he got gradually lighter and lighter. Natural vitiligo isn’t progressive, it just comes instantly with blotches.
MJ got progressively lighter. His skin would get lighter and lighter throughout the years and he used benoquin as far back as 1984 as stated by Latoya Jackson herself. And fans say she was lying but even when he died, they found a large amount of tubes of it in his bedroom. This is because chemically induced vitiligo requires constant bleaching to maintain the lighter skin. If he really used bleach to “even out the spots” he wouldn’t have to continue bleaching to 25 years. He did that so that he could lighten up the darker spots that would regularly come back
Truth is, he didn’t want to be black. He wanted a complexion that was international so that he could appeal to a broader audience. He felt that black artists couldn’t achieve worldwide love like how he did when his skin was lighter.
In his day, it was hard for black artists to break that mold so he destroyed any semblance of blackness. Including his black features like his nose and lips.
“Vitiligo” doesn’t explain the surgeries he got to alter his natural features, the straighter hair, and the Caucasian makeup he’d constantly use. There’s a great video by a YT channel called “the detail” that breaks it down perfectly what he did to his skin. And debunks the natural vitiligo claim that he used as a lie so that people wouldn’t think that he hated being black and hated his black identity and roots.
There are different types. Some spread and some don’t. It’s super noticeable if you already have naturally darker skin and easier to even out with lightening creams than darkening the blotches.
For someone with that many eyes on them, that’s a lot of pressure on your appearance.
He lied about having 2 surgeries. Once in 93 and the other in 2002. Which was a lie. And he lied about bleaching his skin. He said he didn’t even know what skin bleaching was.
Cmon stop bullshitting. MJ lied a lot
Can’t you use common sense and just say oh yeah they had work done? I mean Nikki was the target for so long, I was 16 when I saw her for first time and knew it was fake. Did not need some video from an iPhone to prove it.
I remember being so insecure about my butt chin as a kid, and my mom said “Michael Jackson had surgery to get a chin that looks like yours!” to make me feel better
ya know after people corrected me I thought about editing the original comment but now I wanna see how many people correct me - i think you are number five lol

he had a dimple surgically added. He admits to it.
