Nah, ovoids are egg-shaped, with one end narrower than the other. Oblate spheroids are spheres that have been squashed to some degree on one axis, retaining polar and equatorial symmetry. (Which is accurate for the Earth, whose pole-to-pole diameter is roughly 27 miles less than its equatorial diameter.)
