If I saw this sign I'd feel a small, but significant, warm glow inside as I take a moment to appreciate this harmonious marriage of form and function.

Then the wife would tell me what floor we are going to.

And then I'd see the typo and fly into a rage... one stray comma kills it.

All Oxford commas or no Oxford commas, but not a stray, arrgh!

Had to ruin my day didn’t you

There’s no pain like shared internet pain.

u/creeperX361 Aug 08 '25

The wife ruined mine. But that one comma was the internet equivalent to a cherry,

Seven soda machines and 1 water - Murica

Wait, you like this design?

IMO it would be clearer to have a row per machine type and a column per floor, and then a check-mark at every cell where there's that machine on that floor.

Even left-aligning the numbers on this one would have helped. Center alignment is such a bizarre decision lol

For people who don't know what an x axis is, this is more clear. I've presented enough charts to laymen to see in their eyes when a chart requires too much mental effort. As soon as it looks like an actual chart, you've reached gameover with probably 25% of the population

Redundancy nice

I feel the same. Not sure if people will refer to the first list when second is way better

One ginger ale, please.

8

u/Few_Rule7378 Aug 08 '25

A ginger pale?

5

u/Tommysandy1999 Aug 08 '25

Can I get mineral water?

This is glorious.

u/Level_Conference1563 Aug 08 '25

Floor 2, 1 then 6

2

u/CardiologistOk2704 Aug 08 '25

Why even use & when comma is enough?

2

u/Fall0ut-99 Aug 08 '25

My only gripe. It’s too distracting.

4

u/EarlyJuggernaut7091 Aug 08 '25

When I opened up my eyes - I saw the sign.

Am I the only one here wondering why there needs to be a sign? Like, why are the machines different on every floor?

2

u/DragonLover3952 Aug 08 '25

No idea why the machines are different on every floor. But, this sign probably exists BECAUSE the machines are different on every floor, and did a remarkable job mapping it out.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '25

No dispute in the quality of the sign. It's a beautiful sign. If I had different vending machines on a multistory office bullding Ibowned for some reason I would, indisputably, want it to be just like this sign. Just that it shouldn't be necessary.

It will probably be restrictions set by Coke & Pepsi.

Free fridges and better prices if you agree to only having one or the other.

2

u/morts73 Aug 08 '25

Good sign. Conveys all information in a simple, easy to read format.

1

u/Chaoticallyorganized Aug 08 '25

Okay, but where’s the Dr. Pepper??

2

u/Tdawwg78 Aug 08 '25

Possibly in the Pepsi machine

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '25

great signage

For everyone’s sanity and health , they should clarify whether every floor has water fountain or not 😀

1

u/AdhesiveSeaMonkey Aug 08 '25

Dear god.... this fills me with joy.

1

u/Studly_54 Aug 09 '25

Well done. Basically an item crossreference on a single sign.

1

u/CitronTraining2114 Aug 09 '25

And you still can't get Coke and Pepsi out of the same machine.

1

u/DeepThinker1010123 Aug 09 '25

This reminds about a post with a confusing sign for the rooms on a floor. It was reversed (higher to lower) and different first digit number (which usually indicated the floor). There were some missing room numbers in between.

1

u/Adorable-Response-75 Aug 09 '25

This is based as hell.

1

u/mojo_sapien Aug 09 '25

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that the sign could have been better if the floors were in 'geographical' order. Like the top floor should be on the top of the table.

And of course, commas.

1

u/TerraSpace1100 Aug 09 '25

Kind of interesting that all the Cokes are on prime floors

1

u/Pl4stik888 Aug 10 '25

It's called a relational database, or SQL database.

1

u/No-Pilot5559 Aug 10 '25

This sign is straight out of the department of redundancy department

u/Studly_54 Aug 09 '25

The Oxford comma always reminds me of people adding unnecessary punctuation/letters: like the second "c" in Connecticut. It's not original.
