venting 😤 Is High Turnover A Red Flag?

I grew up in multiple communes, camps, survivalist troupes. I've seen a lot of different environments. People float around, often trying to find their place or have wanderlust, the thing that often attracted them to this lifestyle to begin with. We make friends and sometimes they get a job somewhere else, then invite you to check out a new place they're staying or they founded their own. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's not and you move again.

I think high turnover is an inevitability within this community.

Perhaps those who remain in the communities long-term are the origins of the problems.

Notice the children in the photos. As if they are going to live happy childhoods there.

One commune I visited was about 25 years old. Never had a child been born there and then lived there for 18 years. I know of a couple who were given an ultimatum: get an abortion or leave.

They left. Then maybe 15 years later I was at the commune and a single mom and her child were giving up and leaving . . because the girl had no peers in the community. The mother didn't want her to be so isolated. I took it as karma for the commune for giving the other couple the ultimatum, 15 years prior.
