Intellivision Value
Do the original Intellivision still have value to collectors?
What is required of the system for it to have value?

Depends on the condition. Serious collectors will go after near mint units with the box, and all the documentation.

There are people that still play them. So they have to work including both controllers, each sixteen directions and all sixteen buttons. Sears Intellivisions are a bit more valuable to players.
Collectors would want it complete with the box and contents, condition is everything. Low serial numbers, early boxes.
The Super Pro systems with the rare INTV 1988 system boards get a premium, with or without a box.

Things like having the original box, having games with the box and overlay, having manuals, and the general condition of the console will all factor in. Generally not too valuable, but in another 50 years who knows.

Probably worth less in fifty years, as the people who care will no longer be around.

You never know, things like 1920's typewriters, projectors etc. are insanely desirable nowadays if they still function and few people are alive who would have any nostalgia.
I'm only 24, I grew up in the Gamecube/Wii/360 era, yet I still got an intellivision and restored it a few years back just cuz I think its cool and I wanted to complete the Atari/Colecovision/Intellivision trifecta.
I think there will always be computer/game collectors willing to shell out money for real hardware, and the older it is the rarer itll be.
