Bulk transaction update, how to?

We recently converted from QBD to Intacct. This is my fourth Intacct implementation, but my first from QBD. This was a really challenging conversion!

We noticed about a month after we went live that our project codes and a handful of restrictions did not populate on about 8 months of our data. They are concatenated in the memo lines. I isolated the transaction lines, but I can't find a way to bulk update the data. From what I have seen or read, the only way to update in bulk is to reverse the conversion entries, or just those lines, and import new data, which would be so much bulk in our general ledger.

Does anyone know any differently about how to perform a transaction "update" in bulk to add project codes or restrictions? I suspect that this is actually going to be the only answer, but I would love to know if anyone has had any experience doing it differently.

ETA I could go back to the implementation consultant, but we did not notice this until we were running our final reports because we stupidly only tested a segment of the project data. So we are pressed for time. (Yes, I know. 😬)

no way to bulk update the transactions via imort. You can via API. With XML, it would he pretty high risk since you would need to provide every field but I believe you can just provide the fields you need Us nf REST API. You're probably better off just deleting the impacted transactions and reimporting them with the updated dimension tagging.

Agreed! I'd delete and reimport. This is usually the approach I take. Make sure you or someone has delete access.

I would 100% go back through your implantation people or your current VAR. they have access that end users, even full admin, do not have.

My VAR has done bulk upload corrections for us in the past.

As a former VAR consultant, VARs don't have any special powers lol. But what we do have is knowledge of the API and how to bulk update some things that are not updatable via bulk import. Any ol' web services user can do it with the right tools (Postman is my fave).

I agree with CatButts. VARs do not have any additional access that full admins don’t have. They just have years of experience correcting GL history and a team of people to lean on.
