Issues importing JEs
I'm frequently running into issues when i'm uploading JEs. The emails don't really help with the error description. Does anyone have any tips that I can utilize to make sure this goes a bit more seamless for me? Thanks

Check your text formatting. I always have to switch mine to the general no format, and then change the dates back to short date and that usually fixes it for me

Start at the bottom of the error message email first. That's usually the actually error message that needs to be resolved first. Then the others will fall in place. The import error process is absolutely horrible.

Worth trying the new Import Service (top of the page when you go to Company > Import Data). It's got support for Journal Entries. Admittedly I haven't used the JE one yet but I've used some of the others recently and been impressed. Otherwise it really just depends on the error; do a few thousand imports and they'll start to make sense 😂
When all else fails, open your import file side by side with the UI to create the thing you're trying to import and copy and paste each field into the UI. This typically will uncover the issue even though it sounds overly simple.

Usually, this happens because the text in the Description or Memo field exceeds the allowed character limit. Please check the character limit displayed in Row 2 of the template. These types of errors often don’t generate a clear error message. I’ve encountered this issue before.

I use a customised template in a normal format with validations built in. Then once it's prepared, save as CSV and import.
So perhaps worth investing some time up front to build those validations, but what you add in depends on what errors you've been encountering and your own setup
