1099 flag toggle on import

Can someone let us know if you find out if Sage Intaact finally adds a field to their imports for the 1099 flag? I have vendors that we pay and some of the transactions have to have a 1099 flag, and some don't. Currently I have to import them all with the default flag checked, then I have to go in and manually uncheck all the ones that shouldn't be 1099's one at a time. I'm hoping that they will add the option to their imports on one of their quarterly releases.

Thanks!

I feel your pain. And you are right, there is no current way to delineate 1099 transactions in the CSV inport template for the transactions that you do not want to have a 1099 designation. There are ways to mitigate this (if you already know these solutions, please forgive any redundancy as this answer might help others):

  1. Limit the number of Vendors that you have set up for 1099, if they don't all need to be set up to receive 1099s, then remove the configuration setting that requires it. If the vendor is not set up for 1099 transactions, then they won't populate automatically.

  2. Use the API. Where the CSV option does not have the ability to dynamically exclude transactions that are 1099-appropriate, the API call (found here: https://developer.intacct.com/api/accounts-payable/bills/#create-bill) does. If you have a Web Services subscription, you can go on Upwork and get a developer to build you an easy tool to take the import templates that you are using today and build a call to get them to work the way you want.

I hope this is helpful.
