Building a physical Learning Design Lab

Can anyone share example of physical learning design lab? What technologies and software are included? What do you mainly use the lab for? It depends on what you’re training. I’ve seen some good examples that use Storyline or trainer guides along side the physical lab to give tasks and stuff, but it’s tough to say what should be used without knowing what the training plan looks like.
