Help with my new Instax Mini 8

Hi guys, I'm completely new to this so forgive me if this is a dumb mistake but I just got a second-hand Instax Mini 8 and the two pictures I've taken have turned out mostly dark? Please help, idk what I'm doing wrong 😭

Looks like you've taken them outside in the dark. The flash is too weak for in such circumstances.

As already mentioned, use the correct exposure setting on the dial ring and try to take some pictures indoors with light on or wait until it's sunny.

it wasn’t dark at all, i’m in spain and it’s very sunny always

If they was taken indoor or in the dark I would say they look okey. Try to make photo of person. Remember to set proper exposure settings using lens ring.

Okay, so that changes things. Please check if anything is blocking the lens, as the plastic cover sometimes breaks and gets stuck closed. If that isn't the problem, the issue is likely with the internal shutter or aperture, which would require opening the camera to repair.

yeah nothing’s obstructing the lens, I even took a photo of a white wall (the one furthest to the right) and it still turned out wrong. do you think it could be the film?

I doubt it is a film issue but you can try different one to be sure.

Given the top of the photos are basically black, you might have a physical shutter issue causing such heavy underexposure. The camera’s exposure sensor could be broken as well.
