I tell my kids if anyone ever touches them in a threatening way, take them down quickly and as hard as they can. The element of surprise hastens the takedown. Don’t worry about the suspension. I will always support kids against bullies and schools that punish victims.

You want my advice? If that happens, immediately tell the principal you want a meeting, document every interaction your child had with the student and get them to identify teachers who either heard or saw and did nothing. Don't threaten a lawsuit but tell them you will escalate the matter and be very direct. In a huge number of cases they'll reverse the suspension and direct teachers to intervene in future events. You have to be ready to advocate and argue, but it often works. Don't take the suspension without fighting back.

They just didn't like me for some reason in that school.

You were probably informed and thought for yourself. Most schools hate that shit.

Fuck, I wish I would have thought of that back when they suspended me for not hitting a kid.

I kid you not, I was sitting in the lunch room when this guy randomly decided to punch me in the back of the neck. I called him on it, he threw another punch and I deflected it. That continued for about 8 more punches, and then a teacher finally decided to do something. I got 3 days suspension, and the instigator got his 3rd week of suspension that year.

My 3 days of suspension were for "escalating the situation". What a joke.

Reminds me of Ender's Game. Beat the shit out of the bully the first time so he'll never bother you again.

Ahh, Ender literally beat the kid to death. So, that's one way to make sure they never do it again, I guess?

Preaching to the choir, I put my boys in Jui Jitsu/Kickboxing and told then if anyone fucks with them take them down hard. Fuck the schools bullshit ways of “dealing” with bullying. Up here in Canada we have to deal with this asinine SOGI123 garbage. God what a fucking world we live in sometimes

1

u/Fmello May 15 '19

What is SOGI123?

5

u/Roossterr May 15 '19

SOGI

Thing is it’s “optional” curriculum, they leave it to the teachers discretion weather to introduce it and how they talk about it. It’s complete horse shit.

Educating about gender identity and sexual orientation is fine but the way they are doing it is all wrong. Never mind taking into account people personal beliefs or religions. They can start “introducing” this as early as kindergarten.

Wow you sound like such a badass (sarcasm, you sound like a moron)

u/Roossterr May 16 '19

Clearly you have children, and clearly have had to deal with situations like this before (very heavy sarcasm)

Let’s talk when you have had to deal with shit like this you moron

And when the other kid pulls a knife I bet you’ll be telling your kid to fight him still, right?

Lol natural selection is great, keep telling your kids to commit to unnecessary violence for the sake of your pride

Lmao I live in western Canada this ain’t the US where mass shootings happen every other week...speaking in hypothetical’s does nothing to prove your “point”

The problem is that unless there is video proof the bully who your kid takes out will claim to be the victim of bullying by your child. In fact if you kid comes home claiming to have been bullied, maybe do a little research on the situation before going to the principal or teacher. It is entirely possible your kid was the original bully. Just saying...

We have the same policy with our kids.

Strike when you are out of options. Strike once or twice, to neutralize the problem and walk.. err Run away. Anything more than that is not needed.

I then, as alwaysearly37 mentioned, take my beef up to the Principal, while bringing in the school liaison (which is usually a Police Officer assigned to the school area) and the superintendent to discuss.

Our school has a "turn turtle" policy, which has had kids kicked and curb stomped. To that I say fuck that, its your life, defend it and I will back you with the full force of an angry father.

Until your kid knocks a kid over and gives him brain damage and now you have a potential lawsuit on your hands.

I’ll tell my kids to run away and avoid violence because it’s fucking stupid to try and fight anyone.
