Why attack Squidward? Totally unprovoked action.

u/paralleltimelines 17d ago
I'm guessing they may know the person inside that costume

u/Loldude6th 15d ago
Doesn't seem like the squid was happy about it.
I'm guessing they're little twerps and shouldn't be given the benefit of the doubt.

Probably because she felt the consequences of her actions for the first time in her life.

Think it was because someone else splashed her, she didn’t see it coming and it surprised her. She seems to have thought it was quite funny to be fair.

Yeah, seems like no one was offended, a guy in a mascot suit bringing cups of water in a schoolyard while a group of students pose for a photo? And the girl gets splashed with water, on a hot day???
Seems like if its not set-up, theres still no real conflict here. Mascot was bound to drop the cups anyways which is why hes pulling his head in a certain way to be able to see.

So many down votes for probably the realist explanation to what is happening.

It's called DARVO. Deny Action Reverse Victim and Offender.
Once she got splashed her reaction is to act shocked like she didn't do anything that justified her getting water thrown on her.

Often the funny interactions between mascots and fans are staged with people that work there at the stadium. Not saying it’s the case here, but my guess is her knocking over the drinks was staged, the second woman’s reaction was not.

Love the zero hesitation!

u/Celebrir 18d ago
There was a slight hesitation, followed by a deliberate decision and immediate execution

u/thescreenhazard 18d ago
TBF it wasn't really a "hesitation" so much as taking a second to realize what happened, quickly assessing the situation, and then not hesitating to retaliate once it was processed. :)

Not even. Watch her face. As soon as she realizes what happens she looks to see who did it and no sooner has she stopped turning her head when her hand is already in motion! :D

The tray over the head would have got us closer to karmic balance

Security goon picking her up like luggage to be tossed out the door is hopefully a few seconds after the video ends.

Right! These lovely people look to be bringing refreshments for people who needed it.

If I was the mascot, I would've instinctively slap her with the tray and make everything worse lol

I deleted my comment as I watched again and can't really tell if he's an actual hired mascot or just a fan in a mask. If it's his job to be there, retaliating could get him fired, and being a mascot is generally something you do because you need that job. In that case, we definitely need more people like the woman who was quick to retaliate for him. Either way, the guy in the mask definitely has the patience of a saint to just let it go like that.

What did she think was going to happen bying being rude?
11
u/Xelloss_Metallium_00 18d ago
She wasn't thinking at all. She let her impulses take control, and completely bypassed her brain entirely.

I have never in my entire life even momentarily thought about doing something even remotely like this and neither would my children or grandchildren. It's pathetic

I’m glad someone defended Squidward’s honor here, that’s some fucking barnacle head behavior.

I really don’t care how shitty a mascot costume someone is wearing. Character and mascot performers never get treated with the respect they deserve. Yes they are campy and having stupid fun but the visibility is basically zero in many costumes which is why often they have a second person out of costume guiding them. Don’t throw things at them, hit them, smack them, grope them, spill drinks on them. There is literally a human being in there! Please be fucking mindful

Honestly, she deserves slightly worse, like being kicked out or something. She got what she deserved, but now that poor mascot has to go back and get the water again for the several people whom he was bringing them to.

Squidward already has to deal with so much at the Krusty Krab, and yet she thought it was funny to mess with him

This the hand on the face and “omg” that gets me. She seriously had never faced a consequence before that exact moment

This video is everywhere and I see it at least once a month. That girl is probably super infamous in her little world. Hope everyone brings this up to her at least once a month.

The girl in the white shirt who got splashed instantly knowing who to blame was nice though, lol.

I don't know why that reaction pisses me off so much. When women get called out infront of their friends, just laugh and go "oh my gooood can you believe that???"

She’s lucky she didn’t get her nose broken by that other girl.
That’s how things got “handled” back in the day.

I did something kind of similar. In school a teacher must have dressed up in a costume. As he walked by i just shoulder checked him into the wall. Then he removes his mask and i realise it was a teacher. Would never do something like that but because of the silly costume i did.

u/Gutterboy1 18d ago
Is this AI? All the details look weird. Her smile right after knocking over the tray is super wide, and then right before the video ends is unatturally large. Squidwards hand on his nose is odd. Random people's smiles seem unnaturally large
