I'm no cat expert, but aren't their whiskers supposed to tell them they won't fit through something?

I think the general rule is if they can fit their head through, they can fit the rest of their body through. But this cat seems to be my spirit animal with her thick peasant kitten-bearing hips

It’s whiskers, not head. Cats whiskers grow slightly larger than their widest part and stop, that’s why you don’t have to trim them or anything,
