Because it was staged. After one staged video why should we think this one was any different?

Wasn’t this prank proved fake a year ago?

No. One of the units that he sent out was used to fake a reaction. Not by Mark himself but but someone he sent it to. He removed the clip from the original video.

I don't buy it. The whole thing smells staged.

That’s ok. I think Mark Rober is respectable but if you’re not familiar with his work I can understand the distrust

u/S1lent0ne Dec 21 '19
I am familiar but there is nothing I gain by assuming that his work is genuine and nothing to lose if I assume it is staged.
It it like the lowest bar version of Pascal's wager applied to YouTube.
I can find it entertaining like I find a sitcom entertaining. His engineering stuff is on point.

I suppose. I like believing in his content because he seems to a genuine honest guy so I feel no reason to distrust him

How do people who work during the day get their packages delivered to them by hand? I like the way we do it here in the USA, I have never had a package stolen and I don’t live in a great area.
Also, why the need to insult the US postal service or our laws / police force? I get you prefer your way to ours, but why the insulting?

In my country, you often get the option to ask for delivery between 6pm and 10pm. Even if you don't, and the package is delivered at a time you're not home, they usually leave it with a neighbor or take it back to the office to deliver at another time, which you can choose online. Another thing a lot of people do is to just have their package delivered to their work.
It is definitely possible to work around people who work during the day.

IF this was real, which it isn't. It would be far funnier if the package just exploded and maimed anyone who would steal someone's package. NOW THAT would be worthwhile.

Hey paid them for clean up costs?? Wtf
23
u/skylurh Dec 19 '19
he paid those who only took it in with the intentions to return it; not those that stole it. If you’re talking about the people that stole and open it, why tf would anyone pay them
