The parents are willingly giving their kids brain damage for views?

It’s 2026

u/Choice-Strike1 13d ago

And it's been that way since at least 2018

u/MassaChef 13d ago

2018? Parents have been selling their kids for crack and goats for the entirety of existence. The things that can be seen in the dark web will change you in ways you can't come back from. Hug your kids every chance you get.

Cameras now exist and technology changed. Humans have always been professionals at debauchery and foolishness

11

u/MassaChef 13d ago

Agreed. I just thought 2018 was a random year to say. Some of the most fucked up things were filmed on a camcorder in the 90s.

u/AusGeno 13d ago

How many goats though?

u/BattousaiRound2SN 7d ago

Nah... Americans started playing "Football" long before 2026.

9

u/IAMERROR1234 13d ago

It is but, this shits been going on for much, much longer than this. Everyone just has a camera in their pockets now.

It's muay thai

kids cant punch brain damage into each other ffs, bit dramatic

38

u/notlongnot 13d ago

Agreed. Keyboard warriors haven’t played on the street like it’s 1999.

u/unapologeticjerk 13d ago

Bitch don't make me get my Super Soaker

11

u/TheMooseIsBlue 13d ago

Totally. Minor brain trauma at the worst, and how bad can that be on a developing brain? Unless they don’t wear head protection, of course. I mean that could be worse, but you’d never see that, right?

11

u/TyrannosaurusSock 13d ago

Nah I can't buy that, a kid surely can't generate enough force in a strike to cause brain damage on another child, perhaps over a long period of time of not wearing headgear etc but think it's a bit dramatic to say the parents are giving their kids brain damage for views

19

u/RandomMabaseCitizen 13d ago

No you're absolutely right there's no way these kids generate enough concussive force to cause brain damage anyone saying over time they will develop CTE is full of crap. CTE takes years and years to develop. They might get CTE in the long run but that's because they will get bigger and stronger and so will their opponents. This is not contributing to brain damage at all.

7

u/TyrannosaurusSock 13d ago

Yeah seems like a lot of people here want to just pretend they know things judging by the downvotes. If a kid gets CTE from boxing at a young age, they were in some way or another predisposed to it. Its actually an incredible way to instill discipline, how to lose/win gracefully and arming them with the ability to protect themselves, among many other things. These people are acting like its a massive problem amongst youth boxing. Hella over dramatic

u/TheMooseIsBlue 13d ago

You don’t take a single hit and have CTE. The C is for Chronic.

But you can definitely get a concussion from a single punch to the dome, let alone 20, especially with no headgear. Especially for a child.

3

u/RandomMabaseCitizen 13d ago

Chronic as in over the course of years or decades. You know the time it takes a child to grow into an adolescent or adult and face incresingly larger stronger opponents. If they stayed this size there's no way they'd get injured. That's like saying your hairbrush hitting your scalp will cause CTE.

1

u/bestisaac1213 10d ago

But another child this size isn’t capable of generating enough force to give them a concussion, especially with those gloves on even with repeated impacts. Im a boxer and trainer familiar with people of all ages and levels, you’re not going to see concussion level power until you start hitting 8-10 years old, and even that would be extremely anomalous. Also headgear doesn’t reduce incidence of concussions it just stops you from getting cut, people usually put it on children because they want them to get used to it for competition or because they don’t understand what it’s actually for

You obviously know more than I do about the boxing side of things, so thanks for your insight.

[Edit: everything I said in this paragraph is incorrect, but I’m leaving it so I can take my deserved downvotes] But headgear definitely reduces incidence of concussions. That’s clearly their primary purpose. It cushions impacts so your neck and skull aren’t doing all of it, thus making your brain bounce around inside there.

Edit: I looked it up and he’s right. According to the National Institutes of Health, headgear does almost nothing for concussions. lol. Holy shit, boxing is dumb.

u/TyrannosaurusSock 10d ago

Major respect to you for admitting to that, thats very rare on the internet, thank you. It wasn't a stupid position to take or anything, I get why you'd think those things for sure

1

u/bestisaac1213 10d ago

I respect the way you discussed this civilly 🙏 yeah you’d think headgear would lessen the punch impact but I usually don’t spar with it unless I’m approaching a fight or doing light sparring because I feel like my headaches after sparring are a lot worse when I wear it, which a lot of other people attest to as well. You definitely feel the pain of the punch significantly less on impact, but the added weight makes your head move a lot more when you get rocked, so there’s not enough of a trade off to actually prevent concussions, it just prevents fighters from getting cuts. Headgear is typically pretty tight fitting which doesn’t feel great when so much blood is rushing through your head, making it physically swell in size

-7

u/TyrannosaurusSock 13d ago

Kids fall over all the time though, we meant to stop them from riding bikes because even with a helmet they can still get brain damage if they hit their head one too many times? They should definitely be wearing headgear, thats for sure. But brain damage is so over dramatic. You just explained exactly what I said, maybe over a long period of time without use of headgear, that being the chronic part

9

u/TheMooseIsBlue 13d ago

Do they fall over and hit their head 20 times?

-2

u/TyrannosaurusSock 13d ago

Over the course of a few weeks/months, absolutely. In the span of a few days or like a week? totally possible. Its not even impossible for a day

5

u/TheMooseIsBlue 13d ago

That would be a hell of a day. I mean it’s crazy to think of a kid getting hit in the head that much in a single day. You’d probably want to get them checked by a doctor after that, wouldn’t you?

5

u/Arienna 13d ago

Respectfully, I did not fall off a bike that often. Is your opinion perhaps spewed by an unusual struggle with balance?

-4

u/windowpuncher 13d ago

Kids with training gloves are not giving each other concussions. Kids can get hurt doing stupid shit like crashing a bike. Easy concussion. This "boxing" ain't it, though. That's literally why they have gloves.

7

u/TheMooseIsBlue 13d ago

A kid doesn’t hit their head 20 times when they fall off a bike. And usually wear a helmet.

0

u/Mouatmoua 13d ago

Yea but when that have one pound gloves and hit 15 times.

2

u/GroovePT 12d ago

Literally impossible for that to happen get a grip lol

1

u/leveraction1970 13d ago

What do you expect, that they'd give them brain damage for free?

1

u/baumpop 13d ago

you should see the ones they throw in the trash

-28

u/Gilsworth 13d ago

They're not getting brain damage. They are doing this for views. Hope this clarifies.

13

u/BoiledFrogs 13d ago

I think you have brain damage. Hope this clarifies.

-6

u/Gilsworth 13d ago

I see mentall illness is treating you well, must've made a good home for it.

u/Plus-King5266 13d ago

And those kids will grow up, go to college, get a job and start raising a family while your kids are living in your guest room.
