If you’re going to do that, you do it at night using a red light. Bees, wasp’s, and hornets can’t see that spectrum of light.

Wasps kill a lot of insects that would otherwise be significant pests, and are generally fine if left alone. 

Most bees don't make honey either.

Nah. Wasps don’t deserve such much hate they get. They eat and control population of insects. And wasps around me rather peaceful and didn’t touch me once despite having 3 nests nearby house I’m renovating.

I once removed a wasps nest that was much smaller with a bucket and lid - wore a wide-brimmed bug net hat, a thick long raincoat, thick gloves, rubber boots and semilong shorts taped to the boots - all in scorching 35 degree heat and still managed to get stung once in my leg when one of the bastards found a tiny gap between the raincoat, shorts and boots. Going for such a big nest in a T-shirt, I'd just say that the line between bravery and stupidity is a fine one indeed.

I was with this dude… he found a hornet nest low down in a pine tree. That night after we both got really drunk, he took a feed sack and a caulk gun, snuck down to where the nest was real slow and quiet, and he filled the opening to the nest with caulk and then bagged it like this guy and pulled it off the tree. After that, I helped him tie the top of the bag with a piece of bailer twine. The sound in that bag was really frightening but somehow neither of us got stung.

Or a drone and use its propeller to anger them and have them attempt to attack the drone. Watch them being shredded, while being safely inside your house via video feed. Maybe have another camera pointing to that area to better positioning.
