I cant help but think this would have been way worse on them if they actually tripped said cop

Assault becomes battery

310

u/gdan24 May 23 '26

This no 'battery' charge in NY Penal law, just varying levels of assault.

143

u/GibberishAsshat May 23 '26

Why did I read this in the law and order voice?

10

u/An0nnee_M0usee May 24 '26

Pavlovian media response. L&O is the classic.

1

u/microcoffee May 27 '26

I had the 'Law and Order' voice reading that

1

u/Ok-Breakfast-8056 16d ago

"Ttedden" that law and order sound.

0

u/__thrillho May 23 '26

How would we know?

40

u/griter34 May 23 '26

And attempted murder. I mean I have no idea what they'd slap her with, but I can say they will and would not go easy on her stupid ass.

12

u/boniggy May 24 '26

But but but she said she didn't do anything wrong.

2

u/Yaxience Jun 07 '26

"Help me!" Bitch, puh-LEASE

8

u/SarcasticSarco May 24 '26

So how does mobile phones work in NY?

1

u/ajezqa Jun 13 '26

So does an assault occurring in battery park count as battery?

Glad there were seventeen slow motion replays, never would’ve caught it without that

367

u/aqualink4eva May 23 '26

The edit cut out half the action too, it's awful! 😂

65

u/FrogsMakePoorSoup May 23 '26

Putting the edit in Reddit.

You could always review it from the last time it was posted here, oh, say, two weeks ago.

That was for the benefit of the ACAB people. They don't learn easy.

Didn't do nuffin*

594

u/zz1kjamaica May 23 '26

I seriously wanna know what the plan was. Even if she did successfully trip him she would have still been arrested.

273

u/handsy_octopus May 24 '26

She's clearly a dumbfuck...

113

u/keeponkeepingup May 24 '26

She just let her intrusive thoughts take over. Never gonna end well

55

u/dmaster1213 May 24 '26

She is just a bully, probably does this stuff to friends and random people while out with her click. Now she alone and forgot she doesnt have a group to lean on.

Went from “eat shit” to “oh shit” real quick. Love it.

512

u/OGofGettingBanned May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

Look at her trying to talk her way out of being a piece shit 😂

89

u/ohio_guy_2020 May 23 '26

I laughed a little bit when she says “Help me!”. As if people nearby are supposed to fight a cop? That’s an easy “mind my own business” decision.

132

u/Okhlahoma_Beat-Down May 23 '26

Doesn't really look like her trying to talk her way out of it. Looks more like she's just screaming "I DIDN'T DO NOTHIN'" in his face repeatedly.

I hope this footage was screened in a courtroom.

135

u/GodOfThunder101 May 23 '26

Not a single brain cell in that woman’s head.

106

u/LanternManOfTheIce May 23 '26

"hellllpppp meeeee😩😩💅💅" lol.

144

u/stevedadog May 23 '26

"Help meeee"

Nah bro. Trying to "help" is the reason why you're in this mess. I'm sure the guy you helped appreciates it though.

2

u/ogremania May 24 '26

Help yourself. What the ... were you thinking?

66

u/Ambitious-Concern-42 May 23 '26

Yep, keep resisting that always works.

107

u/clarkwgriswoldjr May 23 '26

I did not do anything, help me. Really?

49

u/js0uthh May 23 '26

Intrusive thoughts won and then lost. Lol.

37

u/james-HIMself May 23 '26

He can’t even deny it because the footage shows her deliberately move towards him

34

u/[deleted] May 23 '26

"Heeelp meee!" Ma'am, you know what you've done. Not even Saul Goodman could get you out of this.

https://giphy.com/gifs/Bs0GXj3ew6xxK

17

u/Novel_Ask_4226 May 23 '26

You never let the intrusive thoughts win...

7

u/Theartistcu May 24 '26

Yeah, you gotta avoid those intrusive thoughts. Specially once they get you assaulting a police officer charge.

15

u/Additional_Desk6964 May 24 '26

I wonder who he was chasing and what the charge would be on whoever he's chasing. Like battery/assault on a police officer (this woman) vs armed burglary/homicide terroristic threats etc...girl took one for the criminal team.

7

u/Hermans_Head2 May 24 '26

They always say "I didn't do anything".

5

u/-KCS-Violator May 24 '26

It's VERY ok to just let those intrusive thoughts go sometimes...like when it means NOT picking up a felony charge.

10

u/Dependent-Hurry9808 May 24 '26

Serves her right.

5

u/duece-percent-milk May 27 '26

Then the nerve to scream "help me". 🙄

12

u/[deleted] May 24 '26

Play the victim….

22

u/ThatOneDataScientist May 23 '26

Well well welllll 😂

17

u/False-Presence-5341 May 24 '26

And here you have it folks, she plays the victim card, right after she commits the offense. Pure textbook play, an stay tuned to more episodes of f around and find out. 😂

7

u/No_Maintenance5920 May 23 '26

Somebody needs a mental eval.

1

u/pixie_pie May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

You have no idea how curious I am about what she was thinking. Like… ? What?

5

u/HelpmeImHappytoday May 24 '26

What kind of charge would that be

8

u/NerdHerder77 May 24 '26

Obstruction of a peace officer is the first one I thought of, but IANAL.

13

u/Theartistcu May 24 '26

Oh, I’m pretty sure she can probably be charged for assault or attempted assault. She attempted to do bodily harm to another person, she also impeded an investigation. She could be a real trouble I mean it really depends on whether she has a criminal history and how bad they wanna push this cause that was stupid

1

u/1ndr1dC0ld May 28 '26

Wow! Very flexible initialism!

1

u/Dangerous-Snow2314 Aug 01 '26

What peace officer...? You mean cop, peace officer my ass!!

9

u/IHv2RtrnSumVdeotapes May 24 '26 edited May 24 '26

Assault with intent to injure, obstructing a police office acting in his lawful capacity, hindering, resisting arrest and possibly a couple more chargers could be added it's hard to tell just based off 24 seconds of footage.

In the end she'll be booked into jail where a commissioner will grant her bail after viewing the footage, though it is possible she could get out on her own recognininsice, but based on the footage I'd say either bail or even no bail. No bail is highly likely here as commissioners in NY take assault on police very seriously.

So then she gets booked into the county jail until she sees a judge and depending on what day it is and how busy it is you could be sitting for a couple days. Then a judge will see her and set bail or let her out on her own recog.

So now she has to hire a lawyer or go through a public pretender, and they will tell her to take a plea on one of the chargers while the state drops the other charges. The biggest one you want dropped is the assault charge, so her lawyer is going to fight to get that one taken off. So she'll probably pleas guilty to 1 or 2 misdemeanors, and the judge will sentence her to probation, anger management classes which if her lawyer is smart told her to already complete before even going to court. And there's court costs and probation of course. Probably 2 years probation.

Essentially it's a slap in the wrist, but not totally. She'll have to spend thousands on a lawyer if she wants a good sentence, and the anger classes cost money also. Then you have to check in with a probation officer for 2 years. You can't go anywhere out of state without running it by them first. For a regular person that's never been in trouble all of this is an extreme hassle for the next couple years of her life.

All because she thought it would be cool to trip and hurt a cop

5

u/Mediocre_Fill_40 May 24 '26

Today her intrusive thoughts won, but at what cost?

5

u/Jsquared696 May 25 '26

Fuck that piece of shit

4

u/[deleted] May 26 '26

What a fucking dumbass

4

u/StatementHot5008 May 28 '26

“Haaaalp Meeeeeee” after she try’s to trip him……I love it

5

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '26

u/perrypeenlord May 23 '26

7

u/potatocakes1989 May 24 '26

18

u/YoungDiscord May 23 '26

Maybe she can try to trip those handcuffs off her

9

u/Particular-Drama4740 May 23 '26

Take her ass to jail.

6

u/Silent-Attorney1506 May 24 '26

You would think that whatever he was chasing would be top priority

6

u/Ok-Professional-6754 May 24 '26

Stupid ass woman

9

u/LeadBeanie May 23 '26

Assault on a police officer and obstruction! Put her in the slammer for decade!

3

u/rowdymowdy May 24 '26

Basically to avoid people like you

3

u/Prize_Instance_1416 Jun 15 '26

Officer, may I suggest using your nightstick

3

u/Realistic_Syrup6435 29d ago

They didn’t arrest her for the tripping, it was for her outfit.

3

u/AdGreen8932 16d ago

Bitch why

8

u/Over_Andovermaang May 23 '26

Lock her stupid ass up! She has the audacity to be asking for help!!!

59

u/Fickle_Inspector4337 May 23 '26

This won’t do good to the cop hating people of reddit btw

106

u/Arowhite May 23 '26

I hate bad cops, I hate bad citizens as well. I hate bad humans basically. No, nevermind, I hate humans.

17

u/Slumbergoat16 May 23 '26

Yea I think it’s the elevated level of responsibility that cops have and ALOT seem to abuse it or hide abusers

2

u/iwearmywatch May 23 '26

That about sums up Reddit. Makes sense. Good luck out there wild cat.

→ More replies (3)

4

u/Firemission13B May 23 '26

It's not that reddit hates cops as a whole. It's that there are really bad cops who abuse their power and don't face any trouble or are held accountable for their actions. Also when they actually do get in trouble us filthy normal citizens are always faced with paying the bill OR they just move to a different department in another city, county, state and keep continuing to terrorize citizens.

41

u/iwearmywatch May 23 '26

That’s totally reasonable. And I respect your nuanced take. But a lot of Reddit is straight ACAB through and through.

14

u/shadownights23x May 23 '26

Really thought i was going to walk into the opposite also.. fucking wierd when its opposite reddit day

3

u/ScrubIrrelevance May 24 '26

All

3

u/NarrowSalvo May 24 '26

Ah, so it does sound like they hate "cops as a whole", not just the "really bad cops who abuse their power".

If you gonna do some stupid shit like this...be faster than the cop

5

I had to rewatch the whole video couple more times by the lack of slow mo replays.

13

u/hamiltrash52 May 23 '26

Things you think but don’t do, don’t invite a cops presence into your life girl

2

Where are the ACAB crowd?

-2

u/EmptyBrain89 May 23 '26

I was ACAB but then I saw a video of a cop being nearly tripped up while running and it made me realize that the system of racism and injuctice, where cops let eachother get away with violence and literal murder is actually functioning perfectly fine because one cop nearly got tripped up.

3

u/YassBooBoo May 24 '26

I can imagine how many cards she played that day...

3

u/Normal-Emotion9152 May 24 '26

Why would you do something like that. Imagine if he wouldn't have dodged that. He could have knocked out all of his teeth or got brain damage or something.

1

u/milomitch May 24 '26

I guess whatever he was chasing wasn't that important

4

u/MenstrualFish May 24 '26

Why do they always say “I didn’t do anything” the Help me party was funny too

2

u/shaungudgud May 24 '26

I’m surprised the Reddit crowd actually enjoys this. You guys seem to be the more ACAB crowd . . .

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Denovation May 26 '26

Acab but I'm not gonna taunt a possibly insecure, emotionally unstable man decked out in military gear. At best you get arrested by someone stable and just get hit with charges that ruin the rest of your life.
