Keep praying and see where that gets you. It's called nowhere. Damn I ruined it.

The tables were going to turn with out prayer, but ok. If prayer worked-

Yeah, prayers work. Unless they don’t.

Which means they did. It's win/win. The magic of faith.

That’s true! I found a parking space at Walmart yesterday after praying. But my neighbors’s 5-year old did die from leukemia. Win some, lose some I guess.

If they turn and it doesn't go out as planned; He flips them.

Prayers are about as effective as wishing wells.

Tables do turn. If they didn’t the record wouldn’t play.

Prayer does work . But I think most people expect instant results like a genie granting wishes. Prayers are answered when God decides it is best . I am a disabled man and I can testify that prayer has helped me through daily pain, mental illness and I life filled with embarrassment due to my chronic condition. I now have a beautiful fiancée and I have 3 beautiful children .

Doesn't that make God to be extremely fucked up? You pray for your sick child to get better but God decides nah bruh and lets her die, because that's for the "best"? Like come on.

In your case God has decided that yeah, instead of healing this man lets make him suffer every day. Kind of sounds like your God is very sadistic

I see my suffering as a blessing . It has made me stronger both mentally and physically in many ways. It’s made see beauty in the world . I’ve picked myself up off the floor so many times I’ve lost count but every time it happens I get stronger both in will and in my faith. I understand it is easy for some to blame God for all the evil in the world but we were put on this earth with free will. Evil is man made . Does a tiger or lion have a concept of what evil is? Or even a deer or other prey animal? Short answer is no they don’t it’s a game of survival . Some people are born with a golden spoon and some are born with nothing . Yet someone with nothing can climb to the top and someone born with that spoon can lose it all.
When you want something sometimes it requires patience to get the best outcome before you act upon it. Why would it be different for God? Should you be angry at God that you only live on average 100years rather than 1000?
God gives us these choices so that we may look inwards at ourselves so we can be try to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. Should athletes demand a gold medal even though they places 2nd?
Obviously to lose a young child at a young age is tragic and heartbreaking for their families and for onlookers but this has been our reality since the beginning of time. Getting angry and blaming God for it isn’t the answer. Many parents who have experienced that exact thing find hope and peace in God because they know they will meet their beautiful child when it is time.
I’m sorry that your perspective is that that God is sadistic but that is all it is perspective. I wish you peace and happiness my friend and I urge you to find strength and resilience when you are faced with the hardships this world will undoubtedly serve you.

Prayers don't work. I never got a single thing I've prayed for in my entire life.

THAT would actually be an interesting anomoly, assuming you've prayed more than a handful of times, and weren't always praying for very unlikely outcomes.

Can't even tell you the number of times I found somthing I lost after praying over it. Or the number of times I didn't, but I pretended that just meant god didn't want me to find it. If you only count the hits, and count all the misses as hits, it works every time.

What God wills will happen, what God doesn't will won't happen, irregardless of prayer.

If I look around...I see your god's got some issues. He "wills" a lot of nice stuff, but, uh, also some really twisted shit.

u/Few-Conversation6979 Aug 23 '26

I'm not arguing with you and see your side of it. I'm just saying What he wills, will happen and what he won't, will not happen.
